What I Wore: Casual Fridays

Faux Leather Jacket: Express (similar here & here)
 T-Shirt: Club Monaco (similar)
Sweatpants: Club Monaco (similar here & here)
Necklaces: H&M (similar here & here)
 Hoop Earrings: Flea Market (similar)

Some days I just don't feel like doing anything, including getting dressed. It's a rare occasion that I ever wear sweatpants but every once in a while I'll throw some on for a particularly lazy day. But even when I'm tired I still gravitate towards a pair of heels (since I stand at 4'11). My effortless look includes natural curls, hoop earrings, comfy pants, a leather jacket and a platform shoe. It feels a little "Jenny from the block" but if I'm going to get caught out and about on a lazy day, might as well channel my inner J.lo.

Scene It: CFDA Fashion Incubator Atlanta

Last Wednesday I attended the CFDA Fashion Incubator cocktail party at the Buckhead W. The event was held at the Whiskey Blue Lounge to honor the Council of Fashion Designers of America's rising stars. Guests had the opportunity to view collections by the Burkman Brothers, WHIT, Daniel Vosovic and Emanuela Duca. I was so excited to attend since this was the first time the CFDA & W hotels ever held an event outside of New York.

Whiteny Pozgay, Daniel Vosovic, The Burkman Brothers and Emanuela Duca

Located on the W hotel rooftop, Whiskey Blue is already one of the most luxe lounges in Atlanta, setting the standards for any chic and sexy after 5 affair. Guests where offered sweet sips upon arrival and small bites through out the night. The hotel's new resto Cook Hall catered the event, serving up bacon wrapped shrimp, chicken simosa, beets with goat cheese crumble and beef sliders topped with crispy onion strings.

Great music bumped through the space but the usual dance floor was transformed into a fashion spectacle. Models circulated throughout the event on a platform, giving guests ample time to review the pieces as well as  the inspiration behind the collection on a moving screen. The event was very interactive as the designers mixed and mingled with guests, granting them one on one feedback about their current collections.

I loved seeing all the collections but my favorite designers were Whitney Pozgay for WHIT & Daniel Vosovic. To begin with they were some of the nicest people, super humble and full of laughs, they were eager to answer questions and take pictures.

Daniel Vosovic & Whitney Pozgay

Me and WHIT :)

My favorite look from Daniel was a sheer tangerine maki dress with pleated details.

And from WHIT's Spring 2013 collection, a tangerine tank and leafy green maxi skirt with an obi style waist wrap. As you can see next spring tangerine is happening and the Pantone color 2013, Emerald is already in full affect.

I also obsessed over Whitney's DIY zipper necklace. Need one of my own ASAP.

As for myself, my entire outfit was all black with a pop of cranberry, wedge boots and a little bit of bling.

Details of outfit will be on my next post :)

Needless to say I had fantastic time! The W and CFDA partnership was a perfect union and hope they'll continue you to bring events like this back to Atlanta!

All I Want for my Birthday: Je Voudrais Chanel

Whether it is great shoes, jewelry or an amazing ensemble, there is always something I'm obsessing over. My ultimate birthday present would be this Chanel Vintage Logo Bag. Pale pink and CHANEL all over for a whopping $5,804 (a girl can dream right?!), this old school beauty is a show stopping piece that I just can't get enough of!

Fancied Favie : Full on Fur Snoods

A lover of fur, I am all about a furry snood and am absolutely obsessed with this winter trend. Having a small frame an all over fur coat is to much coverage but this small bundle of extra fluff  packs the heat and chic. The classic but trendy snood keeps you warm and cozy without the extra bulk and it can be paired with everything you own. The no fuss fur pulls over and makes a super chic statement with minimal accessories required.

Steal Her Style: Michelle Obama

With a strong fashionable following and all American designers at her access, Michelle Obama has brought fashion back to the White House. Over the years we've had plenty of First Ladies who's style grabbed our attention but no one has engaged us this much since Jackie Kennedy. She broke all the rules dawning bare arms in sleeveless frocks, bold head to toe color and all over prints. Relatable to women everywhere, she wears pieces from brands we recognize like J.Crew, Gap and H&M.  But she doesn't shy from red carpet styles. When in the lime light she supports both up and coming and world renowned American Designers most famously wearing Tracy Reese, Jason Wu and Thakoon.

Here are the ingredients to dressing smart and stylish like Michelle Obama:

1.  Accentuate your assets & dress for your body type

2.  Minimize your accessories

3.  Look ladylike with a nipped waist

4.  Don't shy away from bold prints and bright color

5.  Confidence is attractive

Michelle is the ideal manifestation of a President's wife; eloquent, endearing and altruistic but can now add fashion icon to her list of attributes. I wonder what she'll wear to this year's inaugural ball.

What I Wore: In the Blush

Fall in Georgia is a fair weather friend, incessantly changing from hot to cold. Although I am often irked by its inability to be decisive every once in a while it pleases me with a beautiful day like this one. Alanna my BFF (as in best fashion friend) and I spent some time in Marietta Square after munching on macaroons from a little French bakery, Doucer de France. If you have never been you must make a trip, it's absolutely addictive.

Oh and P.S. Alanna is also a stellar photographer!

Hemline Comes to Vinings

4300 Paces Ferry Rd. Suite 109
Atlanta, GA 30339

Whenever a new boutique opens in Atlanta you can count on me to check it out. Today I stopped into Hemline Boutique for their grand opening in the Vinings Jubilee shopping center. Because I've shopped at other Hemline locations in New Orleans I knew I was in for a real treat! They carry a full range of products including jewelry, handbags, footwear, outwear, cute dresses, tops and anything else you need to look amazing. There are an array of designers to choose from and the prices aren't to shabby either.  You are sure to find an up and coming designer or well known brands like French Connection, Free People or Tracy Reese. A cute party dress at Hemline might start at $70 and get into the triple digits, so no matter your how big (or small) your budget, you are guaranteed to find something fabulous!

An open sales floor with plenty of room to shop.

A colorful palette.

Plenty of accessories to choose from.

Shabby chic dressing rooms.

Free People Leather Shift Dress with embroidered collar $198.

Althea $52.99, Ark & Co. $62.99

With so many choices at hand I narrowed them down to my 2 favorites.  I loved the Althea high low skirt because of it's neutral color and cool cascades but the pleated Ark & Co. skirt immediately caught my eye in a mustard yellow.

The winner was my first pick! It was so light and dainty I just couldn't resist. The  cascading hem is so flirty and feminine it had to be in my closet! I already have the perfect outfit in mind.

Thanks so much to the Hemline team! They were so sweet and helpful during my shopping trip. It was my first visit but it definitely won't be my last!

I'm back
